Patio Brasil
Patio Brasil is the hub of Brasilia shopping. Here you will find stores for all ages and interests, as well as a food court with more than 25 restaurants to choose from. Patio Brasil was built in 1997, and is widely considered Brasilia's best and most modern shopping mall.
There are more than 200 shops in Patio Brasil, with everything including clothes, books, toys and hobbies. Patio Brasil has both major international brand name stores, and local Brazil-only shops. You will find lots of unique places to shop at Patio Brasil. In addition to the best of Brasilia shopping, Patio Brasil also has beauty salons, travel agencies, movie theaters and other entertainment for all ages.
Patio Brasil is located right in the middle of the Brasilia city center, just 3 kilometers from the center of town.
Indigenous Crafts At The FUNAI Building
For a unique shopping experience, try the indigenous crafts fair at the FUNAI Building. FUNAI is Brazil's Federal Office of Indian Affairs, and there is no better place to experience Brasilia shopping. All of the goods sold here are handmade by indigenous people from all over Brazil, and all the money goes to entirely to them.
You will find a wide variety of crafts sold at the FUNAI Building, including baskets, ceramics, goods made of wood, and indigenous hand-woven clothing. Everything is sold very cheaply and the money all goes to pay their expenses, so you shouldn't bother trying to haggle. You can get a great deal on everything without taking money away from their profits.
The fair is held everyday from 9 in the morning until late in the evening. You will find the FUNAIL Building near the city center, in the Setor de Radio e Televisao.
Conjunto Nacional
This is Brasilia's older shopping mall. It's not as big and modern as Patio Brasil, but it has lots of uniquely Brazilian stores and goods. Conjunto Nacional was built in 1971. It has two large drugstores and a big supermarket full of Brazilian and international food.
Conjunto Nacional has a variety of other shops as well, including the Brazilian chain Philip Martin, which carries their own clothing line known throughout Brazil. There is also a big bookstore that carries books, CD's and a wide assortment of English books and magazines.
This mall is also known for its great food court. At the food court in Conjunto Nacional, you will find classic restaurants that have been open since the mall's first opening, serving a variety of Brazilian and international food.
Conjunto Nacional is located in Asa Norte.
